Double Pump Elite Wins the 2010 Adidas Super 64 Tournament in Las Vegas
192 teams entered the 17 and under division at the 2010 Adidas
Super 64 tournament in Las Vegas, but on July 26th after it was all
said and done the only team left standing was “Double Pump Elite” from
Southern California. With just 7 players Double Pump was crowned
champions after winning their final 6 games in the elimination bracket.
Taking on opponents from all over the country the Pump’s road to the
championship consisted of victories over Idaho Select, Northwest
Panthers (WA), D1E Derrick Rose (IL), Ohio Basketball Club, Atlanta
Celtics, and finally Memphis Magic Elite (the defending champs) in the
championship.
A combination of solid team play, great coaching and stellar individual
performances resulted in win after win after win for Double Pump. The
roster consisted of the following players:

Xavier Johnson 6’7” SF class of 2012 Mater Dei HS (Santa Ana, CA)
Ryan Watkins 6’10” C class of 2010 Reseda, HS (Reseda, CA) - committed to
Boise State University
Kyle Caudill 6’10” C class of 2011 Brea HS (Brea, CA) - committed to Boston College Univeristy

This marks the second time in the last 5 years that Double Pump has won the prestigious Adidas Super 64 championship. In 2006 a team led by current NBA players James Harden and Austin Daye took home the crown. All 7 players on the 2010 team will be playing Division 1 College Basketball following their high school graduations.
